New Toyo HQ
11 May 2017
Osaka, Japan – May 2, 2017 – TOYO TIRE & RUBBER CO., LTD. (President & CEO: Takashi Shimizu) announces the relocation of its headquarters to Itami, Hyogo from Nishi-ku, Osaka as of Sunday, May 28, 2017.
The Company will be relocating its headquarters to a new (six-story) company building adjacent to the Tire Technical Center in Itami, Hyogo, in order to “further create corporate value through tighter cooperation and cohesion as well as swifter decision-making by concentrating our functions.”
In May 2012, the functions of the Tokyo Headquarters were dissolved and integrated and consolidated into the Osaka Headquarters. In November 2013, the Corporate Technology Center (Kawanishi, Hyogo) was opened as a base for basic research and development. This headquarters relocation now brings the headquarters, tire technology development, and R&D functions into an area in close proximity with each other.
The Company has restructured the former divisional headquarters structure and in January of this year launched a new managerial system with an organization built around each function that eliminates the barriers between divisions. Taking the opportunities afforded by this relocation, the Company will further enhance its sense of unity and mobility, strive to reinforce the management foundation truly as the one team, manufacture products that customers are happy with, and fulfill its social mission.
Operations at the new headquarters will start on Monday, May 29.
