Toyo Tires Resumes Shipments of Limited Quantities of Tires
(25 March, 2011)
Osaka, Japan - March 25, 2011 - TOYO TIRE & RUBBER CO., LTD. (President and CEO: Kenji Nakakura) expresses our sincerest condolences to the victims of the recent Tohoku earthquake
Toyo Tires has announced that its Sendai manufacturing plant (in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture) has resumed shipments of limited quantities of tires today, March 24rd 2011. As previously reported, the plant recommenced production yesterday on a limited basis.
The Sendai plant mainly manufactures passenger car tires and light truck tires for both the Japanese and overseas markets.
Tires will continue to be manufactured on a restricted basis due to the limited availability of electricity, fuel and raw materials, and the disruptions from a still-recovering transportation system
Toyo Tires is continuing to strive to overcome these challenges so that our Sendai operations can continue to increase production and return to full production at the earliest possible date.
