24 Jun 2024
Toyo Tires with Ring Racing took first place in the SP10 class at last weekend's Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie race with their Proxes race slick produced from sustainable materials. The #170 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo,driven by Andreas Gülden, Marc Hennerici and Tim Sandtler swept all the competition away, finishing 2 minutes and 32 seconds ahead of their closest rival having completed 26 laps of the Nordschliefe after 4 hours of the race.
The car, fitted with Nürburgring spec race slicks achieved a fastest lap time of 8 minutes, 40.641 seconds at an average speed of 168.425 kmh for the lap. The Proxes slick race tire contains a number of sustainable raw materials. The Nürburgring spec, uses plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire. Creating a product which is both sustainable and effective, even with extreme use. This innovation contributes to Toyo Tires policy of realising a sustainable mobility life.
Ten cars lined up for the start of the SP10 class and after four hours racing, eight took the finish, including car #171, the second Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo fought their way up from P6 to finish on the third step of the podium, 6 minutes and 42 seconds behind sister car on the top step.
