A win for sustainable Toyo Tires in NLS3

Toyo Tires with Ring Racing took first place in the SP10 class at last weekend's Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie race with their Proxes race slick produced from sustainable materials. The #170 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo,driven by Andreas Gülden, Marc Hennerici and Tim Sandtler swept all the competition away, finishing 2 minutes and 32 seconds ahead of their closest rival having completed 26 laps of the Nordschliefe after 4 hours of the race.

The car, fitted with Nürburgring spec race slicks achieved a fastest lap time of 8 minutes, 40.641 seconds at an average speed of 168.425 kmh for the lap. The Proxes slick race tire contains a number of sustainable raw materials. The Nürburgring spec, uses plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire. Creating a product which is both sustainable and effective, even with extreme use. This innovation contributes to Toyo Tires policy of realising a sustainable mobility life.

Ten cars lined up for the start of the SP10 class and after four hours racing, eight took the finish, including car #171, the second Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo fought their way up from P6 to finish on the third step of the podium, 6 minutes and 42 seconds behind sister car on the top step. Ring Racing with Toyo Tires third placed car was driven by Proxes Brand Ambassador, Takayuki Kinoshita along with local drivers, Heiko Tönges and Michael Tischner.

Following the race, the drivers of car #170, Andreas, Marc and Tim, now lead the NLS championship shandings for the SP10 class with 56 points each, 21 points clear of their nearest rivals from Schmickler Performance powered by Ravenol in their Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS.

Further back, in the VT2 class for rear and 4 wheel drive vehicles, the #520 Toyota Supra of Ring Racing with Toyo Tires also won its class. VT2 is a class for near production spec cars with engine size up to two liters and a Turbo.

The third NLS race, the 69. ADAC Westfalenfahrt, proved to be a very successful event for the team with two class wins and a third-place trophy to take home. The team are looking forward to the next round. The lights go out      for the start of NLS4, the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen on August 3.
