Alan Ampudia and Toyo Tires won 37th SCORE San Felipe 250

28 Mar 2024

A win for Open Country M/T in the opening round of the SCORE World Championships

From March, 20th to 24th, the 37th SCORE San Felipe 250 took place in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. The off-road race is the first competition of the 2024 SCORE World Championship, which traditionally culminates in the famous Baja 1000 at the end of the year.

Overall, 270 participants competed in this year’s SCORE San Felipe 250 and took the fast, sandy, and rocky course, that was 282,62 miles (approx. 454,83 km) long and very challenging for the driven tires.

Alan Ampudia was right at the front in the Unlimited Trophy Truck class. He put his trust in his Open Country M/T-R, whose exceptionally good traction should give him an advantage in this race. While other drivers had to deal with flat tires, the Open Country M/T-R were reliable. With a total time of 4 hours, 2 minutes and 20 seconds, an incredibly fast average speed of 70.73 mph (approx. 113, 83 km/h) and just one pit, he was the first to cross the finish line.

For Toyo Tires, it was the first victory on SCORE San Felipe 250 and the fourth consecutive SCORE win. With this victory, Ampudia and Toyo Tires are currently leading the ranking of the SCORE World Desert Championship 2024. The next round is the Baja 500, which will take place from 29 May to 2 June in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Alan Ampudia and his team are looking forward to continuing their winning streak at the Baja 500.
