As a globally responsible company, our aim is to operate sustainably in the interests of society and the environment. We are proud to have been awarded for our ESG management (Evironment/Social/Governance) in an independent evaluation. Due to the worldwide spread of COVID-19 infections, there is increasing attention for the sustainability efforts of the companies that are included in the indexes. Our CSR report, which informs our stakeholders about our activities and measures every year, was published last March and includes our 14 sustainability targets. The inclusion in three important ESG indexes confirms our actions and at the same time we see this honour as an incentive to further expand our activities in this area. As a globally active tire manufacturer, it is our task to make our activities sustainable and to contribute to the realization of sustainable mobility. 

About the Indexes

The FTSE Index Series was developed by global index and data provider FTSE Russel. It only tracks companies that are leaders in sustainable ESG management. 

The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is designed as a sector-neutral benchmark that brings together the leading companies in Japan in the field of sustainability. The criteria of the FTSE Indexes are based on performance and activities in the areas of corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption and climate change.

The SOMPO Sustainability Index is a unique index comprising around 300 companies with outstanding environmental, social and governance initiatives.
