Toyo Tires Trophy Truck wins Rally
Toyo Tire Europe GmbH. Willich Germany - Eric Vigouroux and co-pilot Alex Winocq win stage four of the 24h Tout Terrain of Morocco. Their victory in the final stage means they also win the rally overall.
Their Chevrolet Trophy Truck had to be specially modified to cope with the unseasonably fierce 500C temperatures. The 37x13.5 R17 Open Country M/TR tires performed flawlessly however. At the conclusion of the rally in his victory speech, Vigouroux commented, “I would like to thank Toyo Tires in particular for the quality of their products.”
The 24H TT Maroc was the comeback rally for Vigouroux and co-pilot Alex Winocq after winning the FIA 2Wheel Drive World Championship in 2010 on Toyo Tires. Family issues for Vigouroux combined with surgery for Alex in his fight against cancer made rallying impossible in 2011.
Eric Vigouroux is currently completing a new prototype race truck ready for the 2013 Dakar. Testing commences in September with the new truck utilising Toyo Tires again because of their proven ability.
