FIA 2 Wheel Drive Trophy

9 Oct 2010

EVR win the 2010 FIA Cross Country Rally Championship

EV Racing have won the 2 Wheel Drive Class of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup. Their Chevrolet Trophy Truck, fitted with TOYO TIRES 37 x 13.5 R 17 Open Country M/T-R finished 6th overall in the Pharaons Rally, earning them both driver and manufacturers World titles.

Schlesser was the only competitor in the Pharaons rally who could have taken the 2 wheel trophy away from EV Racing and as such, was pushing hard from the start. However, Eric Vigouroux came into the rally with a higher points tally meaning a win would not be enough for Schlesser. EV Racing also had to finish lower than third place in the 2 Wheel drive class for Schlesser to take the title.

At the end of the rally, Pharaons race winner, Jean Louis Schlesser was the only 2 wheel drive car ahead of EV Racing, giving Vigouroux and co driver Alex Winocq second place in the 2 wheel drive class and the World title.

Their World title comes in addition to their victory in the 24h Tout Terrain of Morocco earlier this year. A spectacular final year for their trophy truck. Next year, a new car is planned with the objective of winning the overall FIA World Cup even though the new car will remain 2 wheel drive. Ambitious further plans are also being made for the 2012 Dakar.
