Formula Drift Round 3, Fuji

Team Toyo Tires drivers, Hokoto Matsuyama and Mad Mike contested the third round of the Formula Drift championship on Friday, June 9 and Sturday, June 10 at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Mad Mike qualified 2nd on Friday while infortunately Matsuyama hit issues and could only manage P34 meaning he was eliminated from Saturday’s finals.
Number 123, Mad Mike Whiddet, in his MAZDA RX-7 FD3S, squared off against Tomoki Tanaka in a JZX100 Toyota Chaser in Saturday’s first round to go throught to the last eight.
Unfortunately, in the final eight battle, a crash with the Nissan RZ34 of Tetsuya Hibino ended his chances of progressing further. Kazumi Takahasi would later win round 3 in his E92 BMW.

The Formula Drift Japan championship moves on to round four at Sportsland SUGO on Saturday July 22nd and Sunday 23rd. Team Toyo Tires drift racers will be back to challenge for victory.
