The race day brought rainy and with a wet track, every mistake could cost the title. Nerves jangling, the drivers put on a display of their best drifting skills. Bogdanov and Ruzeynikov were very closely matched leading to having to two repeat runs before a decision copuld be made. In the end, the judges decided in favour of Ruzeynikov. In the next round Ruzeynikov met his teammate Satyukov. Both pilots showed first-class performance, but Ruzeynikov scored better to become the Champion of RDS 2015. However, the winner of the 6th stage was still to be determined. Pesegov battled in the final run with the newly crowned champion Ruzheynikov, and took victory in the final over the 2015 champion.

Evgeny Ruzheynikov, Russian Drift Series 2015 Champion: “Champion’s title is a great result. But all I had to go through on my way to the championship – that’s a true happiness for me. Recalling the past 2015 season, I can say it was experimental. All the stages were difficult. The cars became more powerful, all pilots used high-quality tires, and the competitors’ skills improved a lot. Even a little mistake could cost everything in this season”.
The prize fund this year is 1 million rubles. The award ceremony will be held soon in Ryazan at the ATRON International Circuit.
Summarizing the results of RDS 2015, “Toyo Tires x Gorilla Energy x GT-Shop” is the winner in team scoring. Evgeny Ruzheynikov on Toyo Proxes R1R became a first two-time champion in the history of RDS. Two other pilots from the team “Toyo Tires x Gorilla Energy x GT-Shop” got the 4th and the 5th places, which is also a great result!
