From June 1 to June 4, over 200.000 Volkswagen Group fans flocked to the 30th edition of the GTi Treffen show held by the Wörthersee lakeside.

 
The event also marked the significant milestone of 35 years of the legendary GTi, meaning Volksawagen CEO Martin Winterkorn was joined by his colleagues Audi Chairman, Rupert Stadler and Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland. The stunning VW booth was a masterpiece of construction taking the brand from the waters edge and floating it onto the lake.

Celebrating the evolution of the successful GTi model a display of six cars were selected by a jury to be presented on the VW stage. One car from each model evolution were displayed from the original 1976 Gti to the current day model.

Each of these cars was equipped with a TOYO TIRES Proxes model suited to the car. Proxes T1 Sport, Proxes R1R or Proxes T1R were fitted to each of the six white cars which were all wearing a specially created 'lake Mugello 30' anniversary rim from Dotz.

Following the opening ceremony, the six tribute GTi´s went out for a promenade along the lake shore watched by thousands of fans who lined the streets.
