KTM X-Bow Battle

18 Apr 2011

TOYO TIRES chosen again for championship

The X-Bow Battle is the most remarkable brand cup in Europe; no boring compact cars, only purebred racing machines fashioned from production vehicles. The KTM X-Bow combines the excitement of a Formula One single seater and a sports convertible. For the second year, TOYO TIRES Proxes R888 have been selected as the reference tire for the series.

In every detail, the X-Bow, with up to 375 hp in an ultra lightweight chassis, is an incredibly fast, uncompromising sports car. Its extreme performance, light weight and low centre of gravity facilitate undreamed-of cornering speed. The choice of TOYO TIRES Proxes R888 for the championship underlines the extreme performance of the tire.

Proxes R888 is a road legal track tire with pure racing genes that was designed for maximum grip and cornering stability.

KTM also offers sports drivers, TOYO TIRES Proxes R888 as a performance upgrade for the X Bow as Original Equipment.

The KTM brand cup made its debut in 2010 with an impressive first year for the X-BOW Battle. Sixteen drivers took the start for the first race of the season at Salzburgring, an unheard of number for a brand new race series. By the final round, held on the same race programme as the World famous DTM championship at Adria Raceway in Italy, that number had grown to an astonishing 30 starters.

2011 is looking stronger still and already a waiting list may be necessary at the first race, as all 36 places possible at Salzburgring are now taken.

Starting on April 29/30 at Salzburgring, the championship makes it’s guest appearance at the Lausitzring round of the DTM on June 17/19, 2011; a highlight of what promises to be another sensational racing season.
