This milestone victory is Menzies’ first Baja 1000 win of his impressive racing career underlining a strong year which saw him finish with three overall victories out of four races. Menzies #7 Red Bull / Toyo Tires / KMC Wheels AWD Mason Motorsports Trophy Truck started the Baja 1000 in pole position, leading a pack of 30 competitors in the premier trophy truck class. 22 hours, 35 minutes and 33 seconds later, and 1310.94 miles (2109,75Km) down the road, the #7 trophy truck crossed the line at Ensenada, California still in first place. The team relied on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires to get them to the finish line in P1.

In addition to the win, several other notable results included;

  • Christopher Polvoorde, with co-drivers Ray Griffith and Mike Walser, took third overall in the Trophy Truck class.
  • Gustavo Vildósola Sr. took first again making him undefeated for the season and the overall season champion in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class,
  • Jason McNeil clinched the overall title in the Trophy Truck Spec class.
  • Block House Racing team took first in the SCORE Pro Stock UTV class with a Can-Am Maverick R that the late Ken Block had a part in designing. Daughter, Lia Block, wife Lucy Block, and Rodrigo Ampudia piloted the unique vehicle to the win.
