Night race at the Rallycross Italia

15 Aug 2019

The third round of the RX Italia on the circuit of the Adria International Raceway developed into a highlight moment. In the middle of the night the RX pilots delivered a brilliant race with action. Floodlights and headlights of the race cars shone just like the drivers on the podium at the end. The Toyo Tires logo also appeared in the spotlight, as the tire manufacturer has recently become a partner of the Italian championships.

The racing championships offer speed, dexterity and endurance at peak performance on asphalt and gravel. Not only does Toyo Tires currently offer the ideal equipment for this with the Proxes R888R road-legal semi-slick tires - the products can only be developed with an equally enduring attitude. In other words, the RX Italia and Toyo Tires are ideal partners.

Brescia Mauro Grezzini made his championship debut in his Peugeot 208R2, winning the Super 1600 category on the 1.12 kilometer track, which includes a 150 meter joker lap. He fought a dusty battle with runner-up Matteo Valazza in the Citroen Saxo, who crossed the finish line ahead of Marco Valazza.

In the category Supercar nothing fit between the VW Polo of 15-year-old Dan Scočdopole and the Kia Rio of Gigi Galli when it came to contact. Galli kept control and was the first to cross the finish line. For the professional rally driver Gigi Galli it was a head-to-head race with the very young but very talented challenger. A mistake put Franco Mollo in his Ford Fiesta R5 in third place.

The course of the Adria International Raceway is new on the championship schedule, and the Sport Club Maggiora being the organizer of the Italian Rallycross ACI championship, was accordingly satisfied.

The next round of the Tricolore RX will take place on the weekend from 08/31 to 09/01 at the Wachauring plant in Austria.
