A lot of money is at stake when the 32 best players in the world compete in darts. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) invites the best athletes to its annual World Matchplay, where they play with concentration, skill and determination for a total of £700,000. Toyo Tires is an official partner of the PDC World Matchplay as part of its sporting sponsorship. Endurance, accuracy and excellent performance - the values behind the sport are also part of Toyo's philosophy, which is the reason for the company to support the sport as much. The big sports event is broadcast internationally via several channels. In three rounds, the participants qualify for the final games from Friday, July 26^th.

On Sunday, July 28^th, the finalists will compete against each other to determine the winner of the Phil Taylor Trophy. Last year the prize of the World Matchplay was renamed in honour of Phil Taylor.

Only the best of the best will be admitted to the championship. The winning of the prize money also determines the qualification for championships in the course of a darts career. The top 16 of the so-called "PDC Order of Merit" as well as 16 players of the "PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit" form the field of participants. A total of seven players will compete in the World Matchplay for the first time this year.
