Toyo Tires flagship sports tire, Proxes Sport 2, has been awarded a "Highly Recommended rating in the recent Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) tire test. In the same test, the Austrian Car, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) awarded the tire a "Good" rating. Both publications gave the Proxes Sport 2 tire four out of a possible five stars.

Established in 1896, TCS is the largest mobility club in Switzerland, with over 1.6 million members. TCS carried out their tire test in conjunction with the ÖAMTC in Austria and the ADAC in Germany. This year, 18 different patterns from premium to budget manufacturers were tested in size 225/40 R18 92Y

The test stated that the Proxes Sport 2 was good on dry and wet roads as well as complimenting its efficiency. This is a measure of the energy consumed by the tire considering its weight and fuel consumption.

30% of the final result is based on the environmental impact, including a category “sustainability” calculated from a total of twelve environmental criteria, including the country of manufacture of the tire, This was the only real weak point for Proxes Sport 2 as it is manufactured in Japan.

The qualities of the Proxes Sport 2 have already been recognised, earning it the Red Dot Design award for innovative products in 2023 as well as being recommended in the Auto Bild Allrad 2024 summer tire test.
