Saso wins US Womens Open
3 Jun 2024
Yuka Saso wins the U.S. Women's Open Golf Tournament for the second time, The first player in USGA history ever to do so.
Toyo Tires partnered with Yuka Saso earlier this year, signing a partnership contract together in February. Sponsoring Saso was an expression of the company’s brand message, “Open Roads Await” reflecting the opportunities which Toyo Tires products are designed to challenge. Her success in the US Womens Open reflected her ability to challenge after she had to come from behind, shooting a two under par final round, to take the lead. In doing so, she takes home the largest prize in Women's major championship Golf, a cheque for $2.4 million.
At 22 years old, Saso is the youngest player to win multiple titles, having already achieved the distinction of being the youngest champion of the US Women's Open when she won her first. She is also the only player ever to win titles for different countries after switching from representing her mothers home country, the Phillipines to her fathers, Japan.
Commenting on her success, Saso said "I am very happy to have won the U.S. Women's Open for the second time and to have won my first tour victory in three years. I am grateful for everyone's support and I will continue to aim for even greater heights, working hard at my daily practice. Thank you for your support. "
