Toyo Tires, with partner Ring Racing, have won the SP10 class of the 1st round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The race, known as the ADAC ACAS Cup, took place on Saturday, April 6.

The Toyota GR Supra GT4, driven by Andreas Gülden, Tim Sandtler and Marc Hennerici completed 25 laps in the 4 hour race at an average speed of 150.1kmh. The Toyo Tires with Ring Racing team finished just 32 seconds ahead of the Aston Martin Vantage of Dörr Motorsport in second.

The team’s second Toyota GR Supra, with Proxes Brand Ambassador, Takayuki Kinoshita one of the drivers, also took the chequered flag but could only manage P8, having encountered problems in the race. The car, showing signs of greater performance to come, set a fastest laps just 3 seconds slower than the team’s winning race car.

It was all change for Sunday’s second round of the NLS series. Dörr Motorsport’s Aston Martin bested the Toyota GR Supra GT4 by 65 seconds to take P1. The Toyo Tires with Ring Racing car number 170 had to settle for second place.

The second Toyo Tires with Ring Racing entry, car number 171 had a stronger race this time, finishing 5th, just 3 minutes and 15 seconds behind the lead after four hours of racing. In addition to Kinoshita, the car is driven by Michael Tischner and Heiko Tönges.

The NLS, is a six race endurance series of 4 hour races with one 6 hour race included in the program. The NLS is always a very popular race series with around one hundred entrants lining up for each round and sizeable audiences travelling to the Nürburgring to watch the action.

Some of the raw materials for the race tire are sustainable materials. The latest Proxes slick uses plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire. Toyo Tires will utilise the data and knowledge gained through endurance racing in the development of future high-quality, high-performance products. The development contributes to Toyo Tires policy of “realizing a sustainable mobility life.”
